Seattle considering banning new houseboats
The city's Department of Planning and Development is updating its Shoreline Master Program, a set of rules on Seattle's waterways. The update could include a ban on new houseboat development to protect shorelines and salmon.
Lakeshore Drive in Page, Arizona remains closed
Lakeshore Drive will be closed today for the third straight day for road construction, the National Park Service said Wednesday. Only houseboat launching operators will be permitted to use the section from the south entrance off Highway 89 to the four-way stop at Wahweap Boulevard.
Last day for houseboats to vacate bay
About a half dozen houseboat owners may be heading for a confrontation with the District of West Kelowna. The owners of houseboats and other boats illegally moored in Gellatly Bay were given notice at the end of June to move their vessels within 30 days or have them towed away.
Man busted for taking joyride on boat
A local man hosted several day-long parties for friends on a $100,000 lavish houseboat this summer. But the problem was, police said the boat wasn't his.
